Abruzzi Club history and purpose
The Abruzzi Club was founded in 1947 by men who had come to the USA from their home country of Italy. These men enjoyed the camaraderie of others from their native land. After meeting for several years they created an organized club to preserve their traditional way of life. Since most of the men were from the Abruzzo region of Italy, they decided on the name Abruzzi Club.
Today the Abruzzi Club still offers a warm, inviting social experience with periodic traditional dinners, bocce, and many other activities. The Abruzzi Club strives to maintain many of the traditions that its founders brought here from Italy and has created many of its own over the last 60+ years. Membership in the Abruzzi Club is by invitation only.
